Student Loans and Bankruptcy

It’s now almost part of a bad joke:  the only things certain in life are death, taxes, and paying student loans.  Most student loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy absent a true situation in which you cannot work to repay them.  I had a person come to my office with over $100,000 in student loans from a specialized college.  She was not able to discharge them in bankruptcy because they are Federal loans.  There is a new area of law with attorneys who specialize in student loan issues.  I would advise Googling to find them and setting an appointment if your student loans are causing you financial problems.
